Ravens forever! A hill of trees 2012 may have ended, but the cast’s friendships have stood the test of time.
“We have known each other for almost two decades now. Our friendships have changed immeasurably.” Sophia Bushwho played Brooke Davis in the teen drama Us weekly exclusively in December 2020. “We’ve been through so many stages of life together. But I think something we really appreciate — Hilarie and I talked about not that long ago — interestingly, is that our friendships, interestingly, as we all get older, deepen even more.”
Bush, Hilari Burton and Bethany Joy Lenz — who played Peyton Sawyer and Haley James Scott respectively — appreciate the bond they formed while working A hill of treesespecially considering the toxic work environment exhibited by runners Markus Schwan promoted on set.
“[We’re] Actually friends…not fair-weather friends,” Burton said Refinery29 in January 2017 about how the women’s experience on the show has helped them stay close. “I think underneath there was an understanding between the two of us like we’re here to win it.”
She continued, “I think now, as grown women, we can look back just like Brooke and Peyton could and say, ‘Man, we got through some stuff together, huh?’ And that’s a good feeling. I think when you’re in the trenches with someone, whether or not you agree at that point, if you’re beyond that, there’s a connection you can’t deny.
The trio even reconnected to start one A hill of trees Rewatch the Drama Queens podcast in June 2021. “These girls are my family and we spend so much time together, whether it’s on FaceTime or filming episodes of ‘Drama Queens,'” Bush said insider in March 2022. “We forged such a friendship and as a unit were able to recapture so much good and beauty from our first job together while cleaning out each other’s trash.”
the Chicago P.D Alum continued, “We’re just more in love with each other than we’ve ever been.”
Lenz repeated and recounted these sentiments that same month diversity that the podcast healed for her. “Our time is ticking A hill of trees was so stormy; There were so many great times and so many hard times and we were afraid to go back and revisit it,” the singer explained. “That’s why the podcast has opened all these doors within ourselves to explore this new way of working together that is so healthy and healing.”
