‘Some things are worth fighting for’ – Red Sox have no intention of letting Xander Bogaerts go » FirstSportz

One of the most confusing clubs heading into the 2022 MLB trade deadline is the Boston Red Sox. The Red Sox could trade at the MLB close. However, if that actually happens, it’s unclear how big the bailout will be, especially if they’re willing to postpone Star Shortstop Xander Bogaerts. However, based on the man’s own words, it seems almost unlikely that he’ll be changing uniforms any time soon.
This season, Xander Bogaerts had one of the best seasons of his career on the record. Though his performance isn’t at his peak with just eight homers in the season, he’s hitting .318 this season, which is the second-best mark of his career, and hitting base with a career-high .393.

The 29-year-old still has many productive years ahead of him. However, shortstops don’t age gracefully defensively, making multi-year renewal less than a foregone conclusion. Given that he has a release clause at the end of the year, that’s the school of thought when it comes to trading him. If Boston fails to meet their contractual demands, they can recover a portion of their investment.
It’s not a shocking revelation considering recent reports suggested the Red Sox were unlikely to make Bogaerts available. CEO Sam Kennedy and CBO Chaim Bloom have both publicly stated that there has been no internal discussion about trading in the four-time All-Star, with Bloom adding that they “don’t plan.” The fact that they appear to have reinforced those feelings privately with Bogaerts seems to solidify his decision not to switch teams before next Tuesday’s deadline. It seems the Red Sox are ready to get down to business with their four-time All-Star.
