Some Destiny 2 exotics will be reworked for Season 18 on August 23rd

Featuring the upcoming Bungie Showcase Season 18 and a remastered original determination raid in less than two weeks, destiny 2 Fans have a lot to look forward to in August. But ahead of the reveal, Bungie released some new information on how certain weapon types and Exotics will be changing later this month.
First, Bungie unveiled some minor changes to the weapon archetypes. Scout Rifles get a general damage bonus, as do Heavy Grenade Launchers. Other weapons, such as light bows and high-impact auto rifles, will also be adjusted. Glaives gain a buff to their melee, allowing their hits to activate three Exotics: ACD/0 Feedback Fence, Karnstein Armlets, and Necrotic Grip.
Bungie will also be making some changes to existing perks when Season 18 begins on August 23. The Gambit and Iron Banner perks are both getting a complete overhaul, and Dares of Eternity weapons (which are based on Bungie’s other games like Halo) are getting their own trait of origin. The Ambitious Assassin gains a significant increase in their Overflow potential (up to 150%) to keep up with the Overflow perk. Wellspring will also have its hidden cooldown removed, so there will now be ability energy on multikills.
The biggest update on the Bungie Blog is Exotics. Many legacy weapons are getting anti-champion abilities in Season 18, and some Exotics are getting entirely new effects.
Here are the exotics receiving anti-champion updates:
- Le Monarque – Overload of Poison Arrows
- Thunderlord – Overload
- Malfeasance – Unstoppable on explosions
- Wish-Ender – Anti-Barrier
Wish-Ender is also one of the Exotics that gets a significant buff, as it hits most enemies three times instead of twice, and deals an extra 10% damage to champions, majors, and mini-bosses.
Dead Man’s Tale’s Cranial Spike perk no longer deals bonus damage to players (the buff persists against PvE enemies) and instead increases reload, aim assist, and range per stack. At maximum Skull Spike stacks, the Catalyst increases the RPM of the weapon to 180 from the hip.
Collective Obligation, the Exotic Void Pulse Rifle from the Vow of the Disciple raid, will be much easier to use in Season 18. The Void Leech timer will be five seconds longer in PvE activities, will have no cooldown, and will be much easier to activate for players.
Finally, Bungie announced that fans will be getting a heads-up on Arc 3.0 – the final update for the legacy subclasses determination 2 Showcase on August 23rd. Players will likely find out more about this next week.
