But one of the 20-year-old’s recent videos, in which she unleashed a tirade about eating habits, quickly sparked frustration.
“I don’t mean to offend anyone with this video but we live in a society that has normalized and literally encourages treating the symptom not the cause and I want to speak out about it,” she began the now-deleted clip.
“Something I’m pretty snobby about, which I’m not proud of, is people’s food (shopping habits).”
In particular, the influencer directed her frustration at a shopping saw in a supermarket.
“The woman in front of me – just for context, she might have been having a party, I don’t know if she would eat it or who the food was for – but she loaded all that junk food – white bread, chips, pot noodles, all that stuff,” Anley said.
“And also a whole load of medicine – pills, sachets, I couldn’t believe it.”
Anley called the woman’s store “paradoxical,” before adding that she didn’t mean “judgment” by her words.
Nonetheless, she continued with her chatter.
“I don’t know her personal situation, but she really spoke to me about the fact that we’re not paying enough attention to what we’re putting in our bodies,” she said.
“And then we numb it with drugs so we can’t feel what’s going on inside.
“Well, I’m not a nutritionist or a functional health practitioner, but you take c**p, you feel c**p and you get all sorts of diseases, symptoms and conditions that come from not taking care of your body properly takes care.”
She ended her observation by telling everyone, “Please eat your veggies.”
setback
Anley received a mass reaction, with many TikTok users calling her tirade “disturbing.”
“It’s classism for views,” said one.
“Please read the room. Real people suffer from the words you speak, it’s really uneducated and ignorant of you. Be better,” said another.
A third user shared the influencer’s video and said it “boiled my blood”.
“If you haven’t had to choose between starving yourself or supporting your child/family, decline this conversation, it doesn’t concern you,” wrote the user named Flo.
“Someone following you probably had to choose between pot noodles or an empty stomach.”
Other users went a step further and shared the foods in their homes that would “put Olympia Anley in a coma”.
One woman showed off her weekly groceries – complete with chocolate, cheese and roasted and salted cashews – before pointing a rude finger at the camera.
Anley deleted her TikTok account in response to the backlash.
