Skywest Candidates Accidentally Recorded a Practice Round for Video Interviews

A viral TikTok captured the moment a SkyWest Airlines job applicant realized she had accidentally recorded herself practicing for a one-off video interview.

User Chaylene Martinez (@chayjordan_) said she was applying for a job as a flight attendant at SkyWest and started recording so early while filming her interview, it seemed like the candidate just lost her job. once to complete. Captioned, “Def didn’t get the job. Sorry SkyWest,” the video shows Martinez filming his failed interview registration video.

Text layout narrates the video and shows TikToker’s reaction as she looks back on her interview.

“Doing a video interview where you were just right…accidentally started recording too early,” the narration begins. It is immediately clear that Martinez did not know that the camera was recording.

“This is the dumbest question I’ve ever read in my life,” said Martinez forgetfully.

She continued to practice her reaction with an unseen person who could be heard in the background.

“We are only talking about mission statements. You know how every company has a mission statement,” Martinez said as she twisted into her seat.

“Yes, just like what they represent,” said the unseen.

“I can’t say this exactly… And you have to record yourself saying it, so it’s awkward.” Martinez said.

She continued to practice answering the question several times before realizing the entire practice round was being recorded, at which point she froze and looked shocked.

“Oh no!” she speaks. “I’m sorry I didn’t realize it was recording. I am training. Sorry.” She then ended the video recording.

Apparently, the video interview made rounds among SkyWest airline employees in a personal Facebook group. TikTok user @bmcelroy620, who says she works at SkyWest, commented: “This has made it to the skywest fb page and let me show you every comment we all say, ‘HEY HER ‘ Lmfao.”

Based on Martinez’s TikTok profile, she didn’t get the job. However, many of the 4,707 comments were supportive, noting that she showed initiative by trying to practice and that the recording mistake was a simple mistake.

“This is a technological error not a human error,” wrote user @gabbiehanna.

“Strength: Honesty,” added @michellemackeytiktok.
