Manchester United fans were NOT happy with Dean Henderson’s angry outburst during their game.

Henderson claims he was informed he would be number 1 and has labeled Man United’s behavior last season as “criminal”.

The 25-year-old, who supported David De Gea last season, was “furious” over the unfulfilled promises. In a shocking interview, Henderson – who has signed a season-long loan deal with Nottingham Forest – revealed his true feelings.

He said: “To be perfectly honest, it’s definitely been the toughest 12 months of my career.” in the talkSPORT interview. “It was difficult and I’m relieved to have gotten through it at this point.”

“The conversation I had coming out of the Euro squad (with England) was you come back here (to United) to be the No. 1 goalkeeper. I got Covid but unfortunately nobody followed what they told me.

“It’s also frustrating because last summer I turned down so many good loans for this reason and they wouldn’t let me go. Sitting there and wasting 12 months is really criminal at my age. I was angry.”

Before securing a loan deal from Old Trafford ahead of the new campaign, Henderson was asked if he had spoken to Erik ten Hag. He has answered, “No. He shouldn’t have seen me in training, I thought. I realized he probably wanted to keep me, so I said that. So I told the hierarchy that I have to play football, I don’t want to be here playing second fiddle.

The England goalkeeper’s comments clearly didn’t sit well with Man United fans.

During his time at Man United, Henderson was on loan at Stockport County, Grimsby Town, Shrewsbury Town and others Sheffield United.

In the 2020–21 season, he appeared in 26 games in all competitions, finishing the tenure as first-choice. But in all tournaments last season he was only used three times.
