Sister Jean leads pregnancy prayer before Loyola plays at Ohio State {Video}

Sister Jean led the Loyola Ramblers players in vigil before their NCAA Tournament opening game against Ohio State.
Sister Jean triumphantly returned to the world of March Madness on Friday afternoon, as she led her beloved Loyola Ramblers in a moment of prayer before their first game against Ohio State.
Four years ago, Loyola had an unforgettable victory in the Finals led by former head coach Porter Moser. While he now leads the Oklahoma Sooners, the 102-year-old nun remains dedicated to her team. Loyola overcame Ohio State 23-18 at halftime in a low-scoring game in Pittsburgh. This is a 7 vs. 10 match, a match where the Ramblers are the underdogs.
Here is Sister Jean leading her school’s beloved basketball team in prayer right before recess.
Loyola Men’s Basketball: Sister Jean leads the Ramblers in a moment of prayer
While Loyola will likely never replicate the magical run that the men’s hoops team ran four years ago, the Ramblers’ reaching Final Four and Sister Jean’s rise to national fame are an important part of what March Madness is all about. Stories about this one-of-a-kind, win or go home tournament are something people around the world seem to be drawn to.
In the years since Loyola made it to the Finals, the Ramblers have been the preeminent program in the Missouri Valley Conference. They have won the conference tournament three times since 2018, attending the NCAA Tournament three times in the past five years. While Loyola may just be a mid-tier basketball league, the basketball franchise has continued to thrive in seasons since its forgettable 2018 period.
It was a pleasure to see Sister Jean and the Ramblers in the NCAA Tournament together again.
