Silk Sonic won both Record and Song of the Year at the 2022 Grammys — here’s the difference between them

The duo won both Song of the Year and Record of the Year. Grammy Awards 2022 on Sunday (April 3) at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
So what’s the difference?

Record of the Year is awarded to both the song’s performer and the sound engineers involved in the song’s production. Record of the Year highlights the performance and production of the song.
However, Song of the Year is awarded to the author of the song, not the artist singing the song. Every nominated song has an artist credit this year, which isn’t always the case.
Silk Sonic both won awards for their hit single “Leave the Door Open”.
