Shohei Ohtani hit his first home run of the season and brought back the cowboy hat celebration.
In the first seven games of the 2022 season, Los Angeles Angels star and reigning American League MVP Shohei Ohtani was yet to hit his first home run of the season. Ohtani even attempted to perform CPR on his baseball bat to try and get his first homer of the year.
Well, Angels fans, the day has finally come. During the Friday, April 15 game against the Texas Ranger, Ohtani captured the first pitch of the game and sent it over the right midfield fence to give Los Angeles an early 1-0 lead.

When Ohtani entered the dugout, he was given a cowboy hat to celebrate.
The Angels began wearing the cowboy hat during Tuesday, April 12 game against the Miami Marlins when Anthony Rendon hit a home run. Then Mike Trout donned the hat when he hit a home run against the Rangers on April 14.
It lasted until his eighth game of the year, but Ohtani has his first home run of the 2022 season.
