Shock former Australian cricket fast-bowler Peter Siddle split with high-profile influencer wife Anna Weatherlake

Australian cricketer Peter Siddle and his wife Anna Weatherlake have reportedly ended their marriage after five years.

Siddle and Weatherlake tied the knot in 2017 after getting engaged in 2015 after several years of dating.

The Daily Telegraph reported that Weatherlake has moved on with Victorian builder Nick McKimm after pictures of the couple soaking up the European sun surfaced on social media.

McKimm and Weatherlake posed for a series of love photos as they relaxed with friends on the Greek islands.

The 37-year-old former Australian fast bowler became engaged to Weatherlake shortly after Siddle won the Sheffield Shield with Victoria in 2015.

As Weatherlake explained at the time, Siddle used his dogs to help him pop the question.

“Every night before bed we take our dogs’ collars off, so I started taking off Oscars and there was a diamond ring on the end. I couldn’t believe it,” Weatherlake said.

“I didn’t even notice, I went to give Sids the collar so he put it on the bedside table and he just stared at me and the collar and then I noticed.”

The couple’s relationship ran into some turmoil a few years ago when Siddle’s drinking problems threatened to derail his life.

Speaking of Neroli Meadows on the Ordineroli Speaking podcast in 2020, Siddle revealed the toll his drinking habits have had on his life and relationships.

“I partied too much and it got out of hand,” he said.

“All of my relationships that were very close to me, in a way, I lied to everyone.”

He made the decision to quit alcohol and was celebrating eight years of sobriety at the time of the interview.

But not before nearly losing his relationship with Weatherlake after actions he described as “disgusting.”

“I had gotten into some bad situations that could have cost me a relationship with my now-wife,” he said.

“She comes over to my house with someone else, I don’t remember much because I was in the state I was pretty much every weekend.

“‘We needed to talk, and that’s when I broke down. Yes, I screwed up, but I knew I wanted her in my life.

“I begged her to death, but I also knew things had to change then.

“I kind of lived two lives. I was living the party boy life trying to be a cricketer.

“Not just a cricketer who rocks out and plays 40 overs at the weekend and then hangs out with the lads. I was an Australian cricketer, pretty close to my peak at the time, and I threw it all away.”

Siddle recounted his early days as an Australian Test cricketer and said his alcohol struggles stemmed from this period in his life.

“[I was a]young man with good money, money I never thought I could make, and pretty much pissed it against a wall,” Siddle said.

He went on to say that his decision to ditch the drink saved him “from getting fired from cricket before I turned 30”.
