“She’s not the double champion!”

Amanda Nunes and Julianna Pena got into a bloody war in the main event of UFC 277. Nunes clearly didn’t like not being the bantamweight champion and came out to reclaim the throne. Amanda put on a dominant performance against Julianna to become the Women’s Bantamweight Champion again.

Amanda defeated Pena via a lopsided unanimous decision win after rocking the Venezuelan Vixen many times over the five rounds. Amanda was never the underdog in this fight, despite losing by submission to Pena in their first meeting at UFC 269. Julianna went into this fight very confident, but GWOAT came back to her belt prepared. Pena also had a few attempts to resubdue Amanda but just couldn’t capitalize on it.

Amanda Nune’s victory over Julianna Pena at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas not only helped her reclaim her bantamweight belt, but she put her name on another record to become the first fighter to become a two-time double champion. The women’s UFC is returning to normal as Nunes now holds the featherweight and bantamweight titles. Many would argue that Nunes’ featherweight title has absolutely no merit as there are few contenders in this division.

This is Amanda’s 10th title fight win of her UFC career, putting her on the all-time greats list.
