Sharp Starr, Lady Rocket Duel in Go for Wand

Barry Schwartz’s New York-homebred Sharp Starr will be looking to defend her title on December 4 with $250,000 Go for the Wand Handicap (G3), a one-mile one-way race for fillings and mares at Aqueduct race track. Go, predicted as race 7 in Saturday’s 10 race program, is part of a full-stakes card.

Coached by Horacio DePaz, Sharp Starr boasts a perfect money record of 2-2-2 in six starts at the Aqueduct. A 4-year-old daughter of Munnings get out AP Indy mare Gold Mindy , Sharp Starr boasts a 4-3-3 master ledger in 14 starts for a purse earnings of $348,295.

“She’s always been in good form and it looks like she’s stepping up. She’s grown a lot physically, so I’m very happy with her,” DePaz said.

Sharp Starr won $250,000 Empire Distaff on October 30 at Belmont Park. .
