The 2022 Indian Wells Masters has been a huge rollercoaster ride from one controversy to the next, starting with the Japanese star Naomi Osaka‘s incident in the 2nd round too Nick Kyrgios‘s breakout today with Hollywood star Ben Stiller against the 21-time Grand Slam Rafael Nadal in the quarterfinals.

The 26-year-old Australian has always been one to lose his temper when playing. One of his biggest outbursts came at the 2019 Italian Open, where he threw a chair onto the court. Similarly, today in the middle of the game, a fan distracted Kyrgios while he was serving.

Nick Kyrgios fought a strong fight against the Spaniard today. Having not lost a single set in the entire tournament leading up to the quarterfinals, it was extremely frustrating to concede a set to Nadal (6-7, 7-5, 4-6). To make matters worse, a fan made an unnecessary comment between games while the Australian was about to serve. This upset him greatly and he contradicted the ignorant fan.

Kyrgios mockingly asked, “Are you good at tennis?” to which the fan replied and said: “No.” The Aussie carried on with his anger which resulted in him getting a world famous Hollywood star Ben Stiller. Kyrgios pointed to the famous actor in frustration and asked him: “I don’t tell him how to behave.” At the comment, the actor and his guest smiled in amusement. After speaking with his actions and not words, Kyrgios returned to his game and focused on beating Nadal.

Getting a world-famous actor into a fight with a fan wasn’t the only problem Kyrgios got into today. After losing the match to Nadal in three sets, the Australian smashed his racquet to the ground but with too much momentum that it bounced and then hurled it at a ball boy standing in the corner of the court. The bat wanted to hit him, the boy, but due to his quick reflexes he dodged it.

Kyrgios has been heavily criticized for his on-court behavior, which has forced him to be the center of attraction in the tennis world. Without wasting any time, Tennis TV tweeted a video along with the caption “Is @NickKyrgios telling @BenStiller how to act? Don’t think so.”
