Serving up frantic 2D platforming and Wario Land vibes, Pizza Tower is out today

In a flurry of pizza and mayhem, the long-awaited indie game Pizza Tower is finally here, bringing high-speed 2D platforming and crazy adventures for players to enjoy, inspired by the often underrated Wario Land series. In this crazy platform game, players take control of Peppino Spaghetti, a middle-aged Italian who is visited by a floating pizza face – aptly named Pizza Face – who plans to destroy his pizzeria. To save his business, Peppino embarks on a mission to destroy the looming Pizza Tower to save his restaurant.

The game features a mix of point attack, exploration, and fast-paced movement reminiscent of 90’s platformers. Deceptively fast and resilient despite his looks, Peppino can grab, run, and jump to deal with the strange monsters and obstacles in his path, and smash through walls and pizza enemies to set a high score. The faster you are and the more creative you are in defeating enemies, the better your score. The game also features five floors in the tower with a total of 19 levels to play through, each with unique quirks and gimmicks and plenty of secrets and treasures to find.

Aside from its frantic gameplay, Pizza Tower also has a vibrant soundtrack and highly stylized pixel art reminiscent of cartoons like Ren and Stimpy, which only adds to and complements the game’s absurdity and charm. Also, it’s a game that you can enjoy in a variety of ways. Speedrunning enthusiasts can race by finding the best routes and methods to achieve high scores and fastest times while other players can slow down and explore each level for its collectibles and enjoy it at their speed.
