Serious accident in Aurora leads to road closure

DENVER (KDVR) — Aurora police investigated a serious injury crash in the area of ​​East Quincy Avenue and Parker Road Saturday afternoon.

As a result of the accident, all northbound traffic on Parker Road at Quincy Avenue was closed as of 1:37 p.m. and is expected to remain closed for several hours. Shortly after 5 p.m., all lanes were reopened

According to Aurora policeSeveral people were taken to hospitals with various injuries and one person died in the accident.

Police said initial reports indicated the sole occupant, driving a BMW, lost control while traveling south on Parker Road, crossed the median and collided with a Jeep in the northbound lane.

The driver of the BMW died and the three occupants of the Jeep are expected to recover, APD said.
