Red Bull racers will start the race from eleventh on the grid at a track where overtaking is difficult Sergio Perez didn’t have much hope from that Hungarian GP. But during the race everything changed for the Mexican as his team pushed him and his teammate to the front of the grid with excellent tactics and taking full advantage of the clumsy Ferrari Strategies that resulted in the Scuderia missing out on two guaranteed podium finishes for another weekend.

Sergio Perez made up a few places early in the race at the Hungaroring, but the real twist in the story came when Charles Leclerc opted for the hard tires and Red Bull finally eyed a potential race win for them. With it being the last race before the summer break and just ten F1 races left after that, Red Bull has ramped up its arms to ensure its drivers get the best possible results at the Hungarian Grand Prix.

In the end, Max Verstappen won the race for the Milton-Keynnes team while Sergio Perez came home with an amazing top five finish.

Sergio Perez thinks his team is making good progress and the results of the Hungarian GP just proved it

Sergio Perez was not able to achieve the desired results in the last few races and had almost given up hope for the Hungarian Grand Prix due to the poor qualifying placement on Saturday. But the Mexican was quite happy with the top-five result in Budapest, even after a clear Ferrari dominance in the general classification throughout the weekend.

Discussing the fantastic time he had during the Hungarian Grand Prix, Sergio Perez gushed about his race, saying: “There was definitely a lot of pace, especially in these conditions we were able to get more pace. It was definitely a good race for us.”

He also said: “I certainly felt more comfortable in this race. We’re making good progress in this race. Yesterday in qualifying we understood what we were doing so hopefully we’ll be able to be a lot stronger when we come back after the summer break. I think that will be crucial for us to make sure we deliver.”
