“See you in July” Colby Covington reacts to welterweight title fight against Leon Edwards after UFC 286

“I don’t know how that makes sense,” Edwards said. “He hasn’t fought in over a year and a half. Eaten, unharmed. I just don’t understand how he just slips in for the world title shot. If there are other guys in the division who have been active, have fought, don’t sit out.

“Like I said, I’m the king now. I’ve earned my way. I think I should decide who’s next.”

Ideally, Edwards would relish the opportunity to settle a longstanding feud with Jorge Masvidal. He is expected to face Gilbert Burns in the co-main event at UFC 287 in April. The conflict between Leon and Masvidal dates back to 2019. Back then, both welterweights secured victories at a UFC event in London.

During Masvidal’s post-fight interview, Edwards yelled something at him, possibly indicating an interest in a future fight between the two. This led to the famous Three Piece and a soda incident

Who do you think Leon should face in his next match?
