24-year-old Coi Leray makes her music debut with her breakout single, “No More Parties” featuring Lil Durk in 2021. Since that single’s success, Coi Leray is proving she’s here to stayed, after spreading singles like “BIG PURR”, “TWINNEM” and “At the top”.
The New Jersey-born girl had her fair share of love and hate in the game. There have been many times where the rapper has had to defend herself against online haters who embarrass the artist and try to belittle her craft. Despite the hate, Coi Leray has proven she’s focused on her success and delivers upbeat catchy tunes that make the crowd dance.
This time, the female rapper is defending herself against comparisons to Dej Loaf. Dej Loaf rose to prominence on the music scene in 2014 with her hit single, “Try Me.” She is best known for her edgy and creative style and melodious melodies.
“I f*ck her but obviously @coi_leray bit like @DeJLoaf right?” One Twitter user commented.
“Maybe it’s the tomboy vibe we have in common… but we don’t sound alike,” Coi explained in a tweet. “From no more parties to big Prrdd and two friends who can’t tell me we sound alike.”
While Coi Leray and Dej Loaf may have similar styles, both women certainly bring their own creativity and taste to their crafts. After addressing the tweet, the “Better Days” rapper then posted an excerpt of the upcoming single she has produced by Chicago Drill King, Cheif Keef.
