Scafell Road: Car overturned after driving onto pedestrian island

The star has previously reported how Scafell Road was forced to close on Good Friday April 7 following an incident on the stretch of road between Moss Bank and Haresfinch.

Police have confirmed a Mini Cooper car was involved in the collision with a pedestrian island on Scafell Road. As a result, the vehicle overturned.

A police statement added: “The driver, a woman in her 50s from the St Helens area, suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital.

“Collision investigations ongoing.”

The incident happened around 8:15 p.m.
