San Francisco vs. predictions and odds. Murray State for Round 1 of the NCAA Men’s Tournament

Two of these college basketball mid-season darlings meet in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

Seventh-seeded Murray State will face No. 10 San Francisco in the first round of the NCAA’s Eastern Regional Tournament. Both teams look like trendy black horses to run in March Madness, but one will go home in Round 64.

Here are the odds from WynnBET SportsbookStats breakdown and best bets for match 7-10:

The Dons are the lower seed but slightly more favored than the Racers. While I don’t think there’s much of a divide between these two teams, I’m leaning towards Murray State winning this game.

This team was formed to disrupt USF ball handlers in Khalil Shabazz and Jamaree Bouyea but also keep them out of the paint, where they deal the most damage.

The Dons ranked first out of 40 in the country for the two-point percentage despite taking a lot of 3 seconds. Their best offense was to feed Yauhen Massalski and let him cook low, opening the perimeter to their shooters. However, big 6’10” driver KJ Williams combined well and the MSU defense pushed the teams out of the paint zone while also avoiding fouls (under 60 nations by percentage allowed from the free-throw line) and limited second chance (top 100).

I see too many answers with Williams and the Drivers not playing what I think is the best middleweight team outside of Gonzaga this season.
