Ryan Fitzpatrick is retiring, according to texts sent to teammates

Ryan Fitzpatrick spent 17 seasons in the NFL with nine different teams en route to becoming a fan favorite. Now he calls it a career.
It’s really wild for one NFL Quarterback who played for more than a quarter of the teams in the league over the course of his career. But Ryan Fitzpatrick redefined the idea of a journeyman quarterback and not only played for nine NFL teams, most recently spending a season with the Washington Now commanders, but started for all of them.
However, there will not be a 10th team or another season as a starter.
On Thursday is Fitzpatrick’s former buffalo bills Teammate Fred Jackson tweeted a message from his former quarterback that seemed to indicate Fitzpatrick is hanging up and retiring before the 2022 season. Jackson also hinted at this in his message.
Ryan Fitzpatrick retires after legendary NFL career
First of all, the graphic that Fitzpatrick appears to have broadcast with all his teammates from 17 years and nine teams in his career is absolutely incredible. Second, it will be sad when the cult hero leaves the league.
While Fitzpatrick has had mixed success at the pro level in terms of his statistical results, the fact that he has been consistently given opportunities speaks to his talent and professionalism. Additionally, it also speaks to why fans love him more and more as time goes on.
In fact, Fitzpatrick’s NFL journey is the first of its kind in NFL history, as the nine different teams he served as a starting quarterback for is a league record.
We’ll miss the beard, we’ll miss the jokes, we’ll miss the sense of humor. All in all, we’re only going to miss the FitzMagic.
