Russell Wilson considers Austin Davis as the new Auburn OC
Russell Wilson heaps praise on his former teammate/midfielder Austin Davis for receiving a huge opportunity to become the Auburn football team’s next offensive coordinator.
With Austin Davis leaving Seattle Seahawks Football Team To become the next offensive coordinator of the Auburn football program, Russell Wilson has heaps of praise for his former teammate and midfield coach.
Wilson expressed why Davis would not only be a great offensive coordinator at Auburn, but also a potential head coach one day. He said Davis has a great passion for the game, he has a great understanding of the game and is a great teacher of the game. For a former quarterback walking at Southern Miss to play seven years in NFL, what a journey it has been.
Davis left the Pacific Northwest to replace Mike Bobo as the main man in charge of Bryan Harsin’s Auburn offense.

After being released by the Tennessee Titans nearly three years ago, Davis rejoined the Seahawks as a member of Pete Carroll’s staff. He started as an assistant quarterback coach in 2019, becoming the youngest quarterback coach in the NFL at 30 in 2020. Davis will be 33 years old by the time of the college football season. School 2022 is happening, but will he be ready for it?
Auburn fell apart during Harsin’s first year on The Plains. Davis’ predecessor, Bobo, served as the SEC’s longtime offensive coordinator (Georgia, South Carolina) and was previously in charge of the Colorado State program. Bobo and Harsin may not have integrated yet, but Davis has to get used to the SEC way of life, as Auburn faces a lot of pressure in 2022.
If Davis is as brilliant as Wilson says, Auburn can get 2-3 wins next season.
