Russell Westbrook Says “He Was Disappointed” That He Went To The Bench

The Los Angeles Lakers are a declining team at the moment and it seems that Russell Westbrook is being put in a position to become a scapegoat.

Westbrook was benched at the end of the fourth half of Wednesday’s loss to the Indiana Pacers. Westbrook did not speak to the media after the game, but ultimately offered his reaction to the Lakers coach’s decision to have him benched in the latest report from ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski .

“Surprise, yes. I’m very disappointed that I didn’t come back, but I’m more disappointed that we lost the damn game. Westbrook said. “I want to be able to be on the ring to help my teammates and be able to help our team win games like that – but it’s a decision that has been made.”

The Lakers are currently 22-23 and 8th at the Western Conference. There have been reports that Lakers head coach Frank Vogel is under pressure for the team to perform better, but all of the team’s problems are not his fault. Meanwhile, don’t expect Westbrook to sit on the bench in the fourth quarter to be far away. If the team continues to struggle, expect the roster change to happen before the trade deadline.
