Ronnie “Ron” Ortiz Magro is back on Jersey Shore: Family Vacation after a two-year hiatus.
Ronnie is back amid Sammi’s return
Coincidentally or not, his return comes just weeks after MTV announced his ex-girlfriend. Sammi “Honey” GiancolaHe would return to the show full-time.
The couple had a turbulent relationship during the origin show of reality TV series Jersey Shore.
Their rollercoaster relationship was documented for six seasons from 2009 to 2012.
Ron returned for the MTV spinoff JSFV but left due to personal issues.
Ronnie stepped away to treat his alcohol and mental health issues
“After speaking with the team at MTV, we have agreed that I will be retiring from the show while I seek medical attention for mental health issues that I have ignored for too long,” he wrote in May 2021 in an Instagram story. “My #1 goal right now is to face my fights head-on. This process will be difficult, but my top priority is to get healthy and be the best man and father that I can [be] for my daughter.”
It looks like two years of facing his struggles paid off because he made a rare appearance on the show to announce his move to Miami, FL.
He uproots his life in Los Angeles, California. with his daughter Ariana and makes a move south for a “change of pace” and “change of scene”.
Ron revealed he’s opening a sneaker shop in South Florida, and addressed the “bad situation” he’s been in “over the past few years.”
Ronnie almost lost his daughter
“It’s just something that’s always been a passion of mine,” he explained. “I lost almost everything I built. I almost lost my daughter.”
Ron was referring to his arrest for domestic violence in 2021 when he was on probation on a previous domestic violence charge.
He entered treatment for alcohol for eight or nine months.
“It helped me grow and made me stronger,” he admitted on March 23approx Consequence.
As previously mentioned, Sam is returning to her Jersey Shore roots because her ex finally disappeared from the show…or so she thought.
It’s been 11 looong years since the “cutest b***h you’ll ever meet” graced MTV or their cameras.
The official Jersey Shore Instagram account announced the unexpected and exciting news earlier this month.
“She’s still the cutest slut you’ll ever meet. 🎥💋 @sammisweetheart #JSFamilyVacation,” the caption read.
Her ‘JS’ co-stars expressed their absolute shock in the comments.
Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi wrote: “Omgomgomfomfomggondnsodhfh.”
Jenni “JWOWW” Farley shared a bunch of clapping hand emojis.
Angelina Pivarnick commented with “🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌”.
According to reports, Paul D, JWOWW, Snooki, Mike, Vinny Guadagnino, Deena Cortese Buckner and Angelina had no idea Sammi was showing up to the set this week.
The ‘JSFV’ cast were SHOCKED by Sammi’s return
They were just as surprised as the rest of the Jerzday fandom.
It was reported that there was laughter, tears and everything in between as the MTV producers told the cast.
It was all caught on camera and featured in the second half of Season 6 of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation.
An official air date for Sammi’s return has yet to be set, but that doesn’t mean MTV has a big announcement and promo up its sleeve.
