Ronald Acuña denies rumors he had a fight with Freddie Freeman

Ronald Acuña wouldn’t let a late-night rumor about the alleged drama between himself and Freddie Freeman spoil his opening-day enjoyment.

Baseball is back and Ronald Acuña won’t allow anyone to rain on his parade.

The Atlanta Braves open their World Series defense this week, but the start of the new season doesn’t come without a little drama. Notably, in the late night hours leading up to opening day, a rumor began swirling that the new Braves star had beef with the legend he’s thriving as the face of the franchise.

Acuña was reportedly overheard on a recent Instagram Live slandering Freddie Freeman, claiming that there was tension between the two during their time together at the Atlanta clubhouse.

“I won’t miss Freddie Freeman. We had friction, he didn’t care if I got knocked down. Freddie was pretentious and he wasn’t someone I could ever talk to,” Acuña calledafter the translation of Pujols.

The barb comes after a dramatic offseason that debated whether Freeman would return to the Braves or use his talents elsewhere in free agency. He eventually chose the latter and signed a massive contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers, a move that now shines in a different light thanks to the alleged beef.

However, Acuña was quick to deny the claim and responded to many of the tweets circulating the quote.

Freeman’s farewell season in Atlanta yielded a World Series win but not much acuña. The Braves superstar missed most of the year with a knee injury and couldn’t be there to send his October glory teammate to a high note.

If there’s any shock at Beef’s allegations, it’s probably because this is the first time anyone outside the clubhouse has heard of it. Nothing about the Braves or the relationship between the players in the dugout seemed to indicate there was tension. Indeed, guiding the Baby Braves through Freeman’s stoic veteran leadership has been one of the team’s endearing charms.

Acuña’s very quick denial of those claims, which he didn’t have to deny now that he no longer shares a clubhouse with Freeman, should tell Braves fans everything they need to know. Or at least throw in some dust so the World Series ceremony can be enjoyed on opening day. Ronald Acuña denies rumors he had a fight with Freddie Freeman
