Rochester Rallies to Run Bears, 4-3; Garrett Pilon scores his 8th goal of the season

The Hershey Bears crashed into Rochester American, March 4, Sunday night at the Giant Center in Hershey. The loss reduced the Bears’ record to 12-8-2-1 (27 points) for the season.

Amerks made his first appearance less than four minutes into the game and led 1-0 in the first half. The bears would gather in midfield with goals from Ryan Dmowski and Bobby Nardella to give them a 2-1 lead in the second half. Garrett Pilon would lead the Bears to 3-1 just 56 seconds into the final frame before Amerks responded with three unanswered goals for a 4-3 win.


STARTER

Ryan Bednard (0-0-0-0) 0.00 GAA, .000 sv%) has started between the pipelines for Bears. Michael Howser (2-1-0-0, 2.82 GAA, 0.899 sv%) had the starting goal for the US team. Starting Strikers and Defensive Pairs for the Bears:

FIRST STAGE

Amerks scored his first goal with a Ryan MacInnis goal (5) at 3:20 of the first half. Sean Malone (13 years old) and Michael Mersch (10 years old) had helpers. The goal was set up by a pass by Bears defender Michal Kempny behind the Bears’ goal.

This phase will end with Rochester leading 1-0. The Amerks’ doubled the Bears in the first frame 12-6 shots. Rochester went 0-1 on a free-kick while Hershey didn’t have the man advantage in the first half.


SECOND STAGE

The Bears will end the game with a goal from Ryan Dmowski (3) at 3:56 of the second half. Garrett Pilon (9) and Michal Kempny (7) have assists.

The Bears will take the first lead of the game with a Bobby Nardella goal (3) at 15:00. Ryan Dmowski (1) and Axel Jonsson-Fjallby (7) had helpers.

This stage will end with a score of 2-1. The Bears took the lead in the 17-6 shot for the mid-frame. Rochester was 0 for 2 and Hershey 0 for 1 when playing strength in the 40th minute of the match.

The Bears extended the lead to 3-1 with a goal from Garrett Pilon (8) 56 seconds into the final goal. Dylan McIlrath (2) had the only assist.

But the Amerks will lead into one. Peyton Krebs (x) will score at 7:12 of the third half. Oskari Laaksonen (13) and JJ Peterka (16) supported.

Amerks will tie the match, 3-3 with a goal by Ethan Prow (3) at 12:09 of time. Michael Mersch (11) and Brendan Warren (1) has been credited with the support.

Amerks will score a late goal to win 4-3.
