Robert Irwin stuns fans with the ‘wild’ reality of life in Australia
Robert Irwin has stunned fans in Australia and abroad with a video showing his encounter with a large spider.
The conservationist, who lives at Australia Zoo in Queensland, was about to put on his shoes when he spotted the creature resting in one of them.

“Time to put my shoe on…Oh, wait a minute,” Irwin said to the camera.
“Maybe not,” he added after focusing on a spider that had retreated behind his sneaker.
“POV: You live in Australia,” he captioned the post shared on Tuesday.
Irwin’s girlfriend Rorie Buckey reposted the hilarious video on her Instagram Stories.
“I would be terrified to wear shoes again oh my god,” one follower replied.
“Bro, this is crazy! I’ll grizzly bear over this any day,” said a second.
“You Australians are very brave,” wrote another.
Meanwhile, Australians were among the commentators who were also shocked by Irwin’s findings.
“I live in Australia and this is terrifying,” said one Australian.
“Everyone says they refuse to come to Australia for this reason – it doesn’t exist in the big cities. I live in Sydney and this scares me just as much!!,” one user added.
Irwin’s contribution to his spooky find comes after he and his family celebrated his brother-in-law Chandler Powell’s birthday on November 15th.
Irwin marked the occasion by releasing a hilarious photo taken 10 years ago.
The never-before-seen image shows a nine-year-old Robert standing in front of his sister Bindi Irwin and Powell, who appear to be about to attend a formal event.
Bindi would have been 15 years old at the time, the same year she and her now husband met.
“Then and now… It’s been an amazing 10 years of being part of our family, Chandler – Happy birthday, buddy!” Irwin said.
The “Now” photo shows Irwin with Chandler, who stands proudly next to Grace, Chandler’s two-year-old daughter, and Bindi.
Chandler celebrated his 27th birthday at Australia Zoo on November 15, surrounded by Bindi, Grace, Robert, Rorie Buckey and Terri Irwin.
Bindi shared a photo of the family celebrating in front of a three-tiered green and cream cake.
“Celebrate @chandlerpowell is one of my favorite things in the world. ♥️ Happy birthday darling,” Bindi captioned the post on Tuesday.
The birthday comes a few days after the 2023 Steve Irwin Gala celebration in Brisbane.
More than 900 guests were in attendance to raise funds for Wildlife Warriors Worldwide.
Bindi accessorized her black and floral outfit with one of her favorite pieces of jewelry for a special occasion – a pendant with a photo of her late father Steve Irwin.
