Rihanna’s Superbowl prep, Return to Music is reportedly signing a multi-million dollar deal with Apple TV+ for the upcoming documentary

According to a new report, fans will soon have the opportunity to witness the global entertainer Rihanna Robyn Fenty like never before after the pop singer and billionaire businesswoman signed a multimillion-dollar deal with Apple TV. The project aims to provide an unprecedented behind-the-scenes look at the singer as she celebrates her much-anticipated return to music at the Super Bowl halftime show next February.

Months after The Sun reported that a documentary about the Barbadian singer was in the works, the outlet reported this week that the film will be coming to Apple TV+. The streaming service reportedly paid big bucks to film the multi-talented entertainer’s preparations for the halftime show, hoping to capitalize on what a music industry insider told The Sun as a “massive appetite for everything” in relation to the 34-year-old designated.

The documentary will reportedly follow the “Diamonds” singer some time after she and boyfriend and rapper A$AP Rocky gave birth to their first child together, a baby boy, earlier this year.

“It’s recorded during rehearsals and meetings leading up to the big night [the halftime show] and provide a glimpse into her life now that she’s returning to pop as a mom,” the insider claimed. “Rihanna is a massive force to be reckoned with when it comes to music and that’s why Apple paid millions.”

They continued, “The Super Bowl is one, if not the, biggest stage in the world, so their show would always be huge. Add to that the fact that it’s a live comeback and the pressure is immense. She wants the world to remember why she is one of the greatest actresses of all time.”

Rihanna’s new music

Rihanna broke the internet last September after quietly announcing on her social media that she would be hosting the NFL’s Super Bowl halftime show in February 2023, marking her return to music in some capacity five years from now. During her hiatus, the nine-time Grammy winner built a beauty, fashion and skincare empire that earned her a ticket to the billionaire club.

Last month, however, fans’ musical prayers were finally answered after the singer released two singles for the film’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack titled “Born Again” and “Lift Me Up,” the latter of which features visual direction received by cinematographer Autumn Durald Arkapaw.

The music video shows the singer on an empty beach singing the lyrics “Lift me up/Hold me down/Keep me close/Safe and sound,” while scenes from the action film are featured throughout.

The documentary’s release date or title has not yet been released.
