Rihanna’s Clara Lionel Foundation commits $15 million to climate justice organizations.
The grants will be awarded to eighteen organizations across the United States and the Caribbean. Most collaborative organizations are led by women, youth, Blacks, Indigenous peoples, people of color, and the LGBTQIA+ community.
Ri Ri and the Clara Lionel Foundation recognized the need and partnered with Jack Dorsey’s #StartSmall initiative to make this a reality.
Barbados-born singer and National hero announced Tuesday, January 25, that the massive donation includes organizations such as the Climate Justice Coalition, Indigenous Environment Network and the Black Movement.
The Umbrella singer said: “Climate disasters are increasing in frequency and intensity, not affecting all communities equally, with communities of color and island nations suffering. face the burden of climate change”.
The Foundation is committed to building partnerships that empower, support and fund people on the front lines of the climate justice movement.
