The ballad is nominated for Best Original Song at this year’s Oscars, marking Rihanna’s first-ever Oscar nomination.

Other films with nominated songs include Tell It Like A Woman, RRR and Everything Everywhere All At Once.

Wakanda Forever is nominated for five Oscars this season and made history when its star Angela Bassett received the first-ever acting nomination for a Marvel film.

Bassett received an earlier acting nomination for her portrayal of Tina Turner in Turner’s 1993 biopic What’s Love Got to Do With It?

It’s already been a huge year for Rihanna.

Earlier this month, the nine-time Grammy winner announced she’s expecting another child with rapper A$AP Rocky after the Super Bowl, which saw her perform live for the first time in seven years.

The singer held on to her stomach on both the show’s opener, B**** Better Have My Money, and the finale, Diamonds.

After the Super Bowl performance, viewers of the performance speculated about the pregnancy, which was later confirmed by a representative.

Return to the stage

The last time the Diamonds singer performed live was in 2019.

Rihanna, born Robyn Rihanna Fenty, has built a business empire alongside her successful music career.

In 2021, Forbes announced that she had become a billionaire and the world’s richest musician thanks to her makeup line Fenty Beauty and lingerie line Savage x Fenty.

Rihanna welcomed her first child with boyfriend A$AP Rocky in May 2022 and has spent the last nine months focusing on her role as a mother.

The singer first shared her pregnancy news in January 2022, stepping out in New York with her baby bump.
