Ric Flair comments on people who say Vince McMahon keeps the wrestlers

Ric Flair’s “Wooooo Nation Uncensored” podcast launched today with Mark Madden as host. Flair gave his thoughts on a number of current wrestlers including Kenny Omega, AJ Styles, Randy Orton, his daughter, Charlotte, Sasha Banks, and others. He also commented on AEW ratings, why wrestlers use his legendary chop, and he shared some stories from his days in the ring.

As for the stories that Vince McMahon holds people back, Flair disagrees.

He said, “I know with WWE, if you’re really good, you get on TV. People complain about not having a chance or that they are being held back. Well, you’ll never be held back if you’re better. I would never buy that as an excuse.”

Flair says wrestlers can talk to McMahon directly and he’ll give them a shot to prove themselves if they’re good enough.

“If you’re better than someone on the show, and you knock on his door and say, ‘Mr. McMahon, I want a chance to prove I’m better than him or her,’ he’ll give it to you. He won’t hold anyone back. In the minds of many, they are better, but they are not. It’s good to have confidence, self-esteem and feel good about yourself, but he’s not going to hold anyone back.”
