Revelers hospitalized after alleged attack at Red Hot Summer Tour Bendigo

A reveler was knocked unconscious after allegedly being punched in the back of the head at a Victorian music festival late last month.
The 41-year-old Ascot man was with several other people at the Red Hot Summer Tour at Bendigo Racecourse with Paul Kelly, Bernard Fanning and other big Australian acts on Saturday February 25 when the incident unfolded.
It began around 9.30pm when, according to Victoria Police, the man had an encounter with another man on the dance floor, resulting in both men lying on the floor.

The Ascot man jumped to his feet and tried to run away, but was allegedly followed by the other man and hit on the back of the head.
He lost consciousness and was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after being treated by paramedics.
Police say they interviewed a 53-year-old man from Bendigo, who has since been released pending further investigation.
“The investigation into the incident is ongoing and police are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who may have seen the initial incident, leading to the men being at the scene,” Victoria Police said.
Anyone with information regarding the incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
