Rep. Boebert goes viral with dress she wore to Biden’s SOTU address

Rep. Lauren Boebert managed to produce a viral moment while attending President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address on Tuesday night.

The Colorado Republican’s black outfit featured three words in gold lettering: “Drill Baby, Drill” — a critique of Biden’s reversal of Trump-era policies aimed at developing more US-based fossil fuels, which led to that the country became energy independent for the first time in decades.

The stunt also came as gas prices hit a seven-year high this week; “Notably, Biden canceled construction of the Keystone XL pipeline and recently suspended new oil and gas leases indefinitely,” reported The Daily Wire.

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) posted a photo of Boebert’s outfit on Twitter, which he approved and approved.

The viral moment for Boebert comes as oil prices shoot up again in response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, despite prices having been steadily rising before.

“Oil prices skyrocketed on Tuesday, with US crude hitting highest since June 2014 as Russia pressures Ukraine’s capital,” CNBC News reported just hours before Biden delivered his address Tuesday night.

“West Texas Intermediate Crude Futures, the US oil benchmark, rose 11.5% from the day’s highs to $106.78 a barrel. The contract retreated from this level during afternoon trade to end the session at $103.41, up 8.03%,” the outlet continued.

Fox Business, on the other hand added, “The US and its allies put 60 million barrels of oil on the market, with America pushing the lion’s share of 30 million on Tuesday to dampen soaring crude prices. The problem is, it didn’t work.”

In November, Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm authorized During a CNN interview that Americans will pay more for gas, she added that she hoped prices didn’t hit $4 a gallon – which they are in many parts of the country.

“So the national average gas price is now $3.42 per gallon, according to the AAA. Bank of America is forecasting that crude oil prices could rise another 50 percent by next June,” said CNN anchor Dana Bash. “Could the average price of gasoline in America soon be $4 a gallon in the United States?”

“Well, we certainly hope not,” Granholm replied. “As I said, the Energy Information Agency will release its forecast this week.”

“The president is everywhere,” she claimed.

“In what is likely to be a cold winter, should Americans — most of them — expect to pay higher prices to heat their homes?” Bash later asked.

“Yes, that will happen,” Granholm replied. “It’s going to be – it’s going to be more expensive this year than last year. We are in a slightly advantageous position, certainly compared to Europe as their natural gas reserves are very significant.” Rep. Boebert goes viral with dress she wore to Biden’s SOTU address
