Recall: Ikea is urgently recalling popular products sold across Australia

An Ikea dessert has been urgently recalled amid fears it may contain metal.

Food Safety Standards Australia advises that the 400g Daim Almondy Almond Cake sold in Ikea stores in NSW, ACT, QLD, VIC, SA and WA is being pulled from shelves amid fears that it could lead to serious illness or injury if eaten.

“The recall is due to the possible presence of foreign substances (metal),” warned the consumer advice center.

“Metal containing food products can cause illness/injury if eaten.

“Any consumer who is concerned about their health should seek medical advice.”

Customers are urged not to eat the product and return it to the point of sale for a full refund.
