Rebel Wilson returns to high school in trailer for Netflix comedy SENIOR YEAR: GeekTyrant

Netflix has released a trailer and poster for its feature comedy senior year. The movie stars Rebel Wilson (Pitch perfect, Jojo rabbit) as a woman who has spent the last twenty years in a coma after a cheerleading accident occurred during her senior year of high school. Upon waking up, she’s ready to pick up where she left off…in 2002.

Wilson joins the cast Sam Richardson, Zoe Chao, Mary Holland, Justin Hartley, Chris Parell, Angourie rice, Michael Chimin, Jeremy Ray Taylor, Brandon Scott Jones, Alice Silverstoneand avantika. The film was directed Alex Hardcastle (American woman, you are the worst, Grace and Frankie), in his directorial debut, based on a screenplay by Andrew Knauer, Arthur Pielliand Brandon Scott Jones.

This type of film is absolutely my guilty pleasure. It’s cheesy for sure, but it looks hilarious to me. Also, I graduated in 2002, and since this is my 20th reunion (which I definitely won’t be going to), I think this movie will be a fun blast from the past.
