Rebel Wilson fans were stunned by the “badass” names of the star’s siblings

Although some fans thought Rebel Wilson’s name was unusual, the Australian actress comes from a family of unique names.
The Pitch Perfect star’s parents, Sue and Jack Bownds, started a sweet tradition of unusual family names, which Wilson has continued with their baby daughter.

Wilson, 43, is the eldest of her siblings, two years older than her sister Liberty.
Third is the Wilson family boy, Ryot, followed by the youngest daughter, Annachi.
Annachi’s full name is Annaleise, but she reportedly prefers the nickname.
Wilson, who was born Melanie Elizabeth, says the name Rebel was a childhood nickname that stuck.
“A girl called Rebel sang at (my parents’) wedding and that’s where my name came from,” she told the Daily Telegraph in 2011.
“My three siblings and I all have middle names after the English royal family.
“Mine is Elizabeth, that’s what I was called at school.”
In 2002, she officially changed her name from Melanie Elizabeth Bownds to Rebel Melanie Elizabeth Wilson.
Fans of the actress took to Twitter after learning about the family’s unique names.
“Rebel Wilson’s siblings are named Liberty, Annachi, and Ryot. Family with the best names ever,” said one.
“Just found out that Rebel Wilson’s siblings are named Ryot, Liberty and Annarchi,” said a second.
“How badass,” one remarked, while another said, “Gee I thought ‘Rebel’ was out there”.
“Who is in charge of names in this family?!” asked another.
Continuing the family tradition of unusual names, Wilson named their daughter Royce Lillian Elizabeth Wilson.
The actress revealed she wanted an original first name for her daughter, who arrived via surrogate in November 2022 – and it had to start with the letter R.
Because her name begins with an R – just like that of her partner, the fashion designer Ramona Agruma.
“I wanted an original name that started with the letter R and ended up with this one,” Wilson told People.
“Lillian and Elizabeth are both surnames borne by women in my family that I admire.
“Elizabeth, that’s my middle name too, after the late Queen.”
