Real Madrid, Manchester City duel

Erling Haaland is considered the top striker available in the transfer market this summer. Real Madrid and Manchester City are ready to fight to sign him.

Borussia Dortmund fans have enjoyed Erling Haaland leading their favorite team for the past season and a half, but the Bundesliga club understand that his time in Germany is limited. Haaland’s relatively modest release clause means he is set to leave this summer.

The Norwegian striker’s huge salary requirement will limit the number of clubs that can afford to sign him. Especially, City of Manchester and Real Madrid are the two sides that seem prepared to meet his asking price.

Erling Haaland transfer rumors: Real Madrid, Manchester City lead

Pep Guardiola’s Man City are in dire need of a clue to lead a struggling Premier League defence. Haaland may not possess the technical ability that Guardiola dreams of in his ideal striker, but his prowess in attack can make City’s attack difficult to play against opponents.

Real Madrid currently trusts Karim Benzema as a striker but they clearly want to be more youthful and dynamic this summer. The La Liga giants are keen to sign both Haaland and Kylian Mbappe this summer to form one of the world’s most devastating attacking duos. For now, the Frenchman’s status with PSG is still ongoing, but it is believed he will at least be ready to listen to an offer from Real when the summer transfer window opens.

Both Real Madrid and Manchester City had the necessary financial capacity to tempt Haaland and his agents. As such, both sides will need to focus on convincing the player of their unique plan to make him the best striker in the world. The battle with Haaland this summer is win or lose. The money will be there wherever he chooses to go. Real Madrid, Manchester City duel
