Read the memo that spooked CDC and Democrats into dropping the mask mandate

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recently changed its guidance on masks, which prompted blue state governors across the US to lift their mask restrictions.

Although the CDC justified the decision based on “low transmission” across the country, the truth is that masks have never been shown to make a statistically significant difference in preventing stop the spread. Indeed, mask-mandating states consistently have higher case rates than liberal states, while mask-mandating schools consistently have higher case rates than mask-optional fields.

The mask guidelines were changed just days before President Biden spoke during the Coalition, and amid Russia’s invasion of Ukraine provided a useful distraction for an administration about to open fire. Republicans are also poised to impose a historic bloodbath on Democrats in the midterms of 2022.

The only “science” the CDC pursues is “political science.”

On February 24, a memo from IMPACT Study began circulating the day before the CDC changed its guidance to provide insight into the Democrats’ abrupt political decision to ditch the masks.

Impact Research describes its client and mission:

Impact has helped elect Democratic candidates at all levels – from the White House and Congress to state buildings and city halls. We strive to be an active part of the campaign’s strategic team, participating in message development, voter targeting, and real-time crisis management. We see ourselves as the “watchdog” of the campaign’s messaging, ensuring the campaign maintains the discipline necessary to target the right message to the right voters. In addition to providing accurate numbers, we are always available to assist, always accessible and will be involved every step of the way to help our customers win.

If you read IR’s memo to Democratic clients, it’s unmistakable in its tone that it’s time for the Democrats to back off completely on Covid restrictions.

“After two years of demanding closures, travel bans, school closures, mandatory mask wearing, and nearly a million deaths, nearly every American finally has the tools to protect themselves from the virus. this virus,” the IR memo reads.

“It is time for the Democrats to take credit for ending the COVID crisis phase of the COVID war, pointing to key victories like vaccine distribution and bringing economic stability to Americans. , and fully enter the rebuilding phase after any war,” the memo continued.

Below, we offer some strategic thinking for Democrats to position themselves on COVID-19 nearly two years after the pandemic hit, the memo reads.

“Declaring the crisis phase of COVID over and promoting a more normal feeling and action. Thank you Democrats, we’re close to where we were two years, or even a year ago. Democrats have a huge chance of historic, incredible success – they’ve vaccinated hundreds of millions of people, stopped the economy from going into free fall, stopped businesses small go down and get everyone back to work safely. Because of President Biden and the Democrats, we CAN safely return to normal life and feel much more normal – and they should proudly declare that. ”

The memo adds: “Recognize that people are ‘exhausted’ and feeling real damage from the years-long restrictions and take their side. “Most Americans have gotten out of crisis mode on their own. Now twice as many voters are concerned about the impact of COVID on the economy (49%) than about someone in their family or someone they know has coronavirus (24%). Two-thirds of parents and 80% of teachers say the pandemic is causing school loss, and voters are more worried about school loss than children with COVID. Six out of 10 Americans describe themselves as ‘living down’ because of the pandemic. The more we talk about the threat of COVID and the limitation on people’s lives because of it, the more we turn against ourselves and show them that we have lost touch with their everyday reality.. ”

“COVID recognition persists and will likely persist for a long time,” it continued. “We do not advise Democrats to speak like Republicans have largely ignored the pandemic, even before vaccination. Declaring a return to a ‘new normal’ does not mean ignoring that people will continue to get it, that we should not be held accountable, or that we should turn our backs on the medical community that is treating it. sick people and develop therapies that will save lives. Instead, it means realizing that the COVID threat is not what it used to be even a year ago and therefore should not be treated as such – shutdown, mask and lock doors to save lives when no vaccine can do that. Voters know we now have the tools in our toolkit to take responsibility for combating and living with COVID – vaccines and boosters to reduce illness and masks and social distancing around around vulnerable groups. ”

“Don’t put ‘COVID zero’ as a win condition,” the IR memo added. “Americans also don’t think victory is COVID Zero. They think the virus is here to live, and 83% say the pandemic will end when it’s as mild as the flu rather than COVID disappearing completely, and 55% prefer COVID to be treated as an endemic disease. And that’s what most Americans are dealing with—a disease with a fatality rate like the flu—As most of us have a personal responsibility to protect ourselves and our families by getting vaccinated [note: 80% of Americans on average have natural immunity in their states]. Americans also think they will get COVID: 77% agree it’s ‘inevitable that most people in the US will eventually get COVID-19’‘, and 61% of Americans who have never tested positive think they are likely infected in the next year. And thanks to the work that Democrats have done over the past year, despite believing that contracting COVID is inevitable, most Americans are no longer afraid.”

Stop talking about limitations and the unknown future ahead,” the memo said. “If we focus on how bad things are still and how much worse they can get, we’ve set the Democrats up as failures who can’t navigate us past. through this. When 99% of Americans are vaccinated, we’re causing more harm than we can prevent voters by entering our third year of talking about restrictions.. And, if Democrats continue to favor COVID prevention measures over learning to live in a world where COVID exists, but does not dominate, they risk paying dearly for it in November. ”
