Ray J opens up about how he and his wife plan to move forward with their marriage
Ray J and Love attended the 2023 BET Awards ceremony at the Microsoft Theater in LA hand-in-hand, where they presented the award for Best New Artist. On the red carpet, the lovebirds couldn’t keep their hands off each other and engaged in a steamy PDA session.
On stage, the talented songwriter had only the most endearing words for his sweetheart as he said, “Love wins.” I love you baby. Listen, try to compromise, never let yourself go.”
After the ceremony, the partners talked ET Online about their renewed relationship and the struggles they’ve experienced. Love shared, “I mean, love is hard. It’s never easy, but it always works. And that’s the way it should be, right?”
Her husband then explained how they progressed as a couple, saying it’s about, “we just become best friends and do things that she loves to do, that I love to do, and we just keep at it.”
Brandy Norwood’s younger brother continued: ‘She’s my best friend; I’m her best buddy. And all the friends and everyone we’ve had around us needs to come out of our bubble. I think once we start shutting ourselves in like that, it’s just super fun, you know?”
The Mississippian native went on to claim there were multiple people against her, including “some from around the world.” However, he and Love decided they needed to “shut everyone out and focus on us and our family.”
Ray J understood that their marriage required a lot more compromise, more listening, and trying to understand how they could make things right and what he could do to improve himself. He continued, “I mean, if you’re looking at the abyss and it’s really going to be over soon, that’s a sure thing; it changes the whole scope of things. And I’m glad we stuck with it.”

It was reported that Ray J asked the court to order “miscellaneous jewelry and other personal effects” as his property, along with “earrings and accumulations before marriage, during marriage, and on and after the date of separation.”
The filings also alleged that there were several other “property assets and obligations of each party under their marriage contract.” Assets implied typically included music licenses and resources.
