Ravens hire Kerry Dixon as assistant defender coach – CBS Baltimore

BALTIMORE (WJZ) – The Baltimore Ravens have hired Kerry Dixon, wide-field coach at Georgia Tech, as assistant quarterback coach under James Urban, the team announced Monday.

Head coach John Harbaugh said: “We are delighted to welcome Kerry to our staff as assistant quarterback coach. “Kerry has been a successful college coach for many years. Also a former quarterback and team captain at Hampton, he has a high football IQ and leadership qualities that inspire those around him. Kerry will work well with James Urban and help our defenders continue to chase new heights.”

After participating in Yellow Jackets in 2019, Dixon helped Georgia Tech forward from an optional attack to a professional-style contagion attack.

Dixon played as a winger and wide ranger at Baylor in 2000 and 2001, then moved to Hampton, where he played between 2002 and 2003 and was named captain.

He has also coached at Florida (wide, 2015-17), Florida International (backward, 2014), Florida Atlantic (backward, 2012-13), Montana State (backward, 2010-11) , Stillman (attack coordinator, 2009), Texas Southern (quadrant, 2008), and Morgan State (quadrant, 2007).

The crows Rent Urbanwho was also working as an expansion coach at the time he was signed, as quarterback coach in 2018, which means he has worked with Lamar Jackson throughout his professional career.
