On Thursday, fans witnessed a “rare” scene as Jasprit Bumrah bowled against Rohit Sharma in India’s warm-up match against Leicestershire County Cricket Club at Leicester’s Uptonsteel County Ground. Fans have often wondered what it would be like if Bumrah, who is one of the best bowlers in modern cricket, went across formats. Fans have seen Bumrah play against great batters like Virat Kohli and other batters throughout the IPL season.
Bumrah rarely faced Rohit Sharma outside of the training nets because they share the dressing room while playing for Mumbai Indians in IPL. But the fans’ wish came true in the tour match between India and Leicestershire County Cricket Club.

The team game prepares India for the rescheduled fifth test of the 2021 Tour, which had been postponed due to the unremitting Covid-19 crisis in the Indian camp. India leads the series 2-1.
It was announced on Wednesday that Bumrah, Rishabh Pant, Cheteshwar Pujara and Prasidh Krishna will play for the LCCC roster in the four-day practice match starting Thursday. Sam Evans leads the LCCC and these players currently play under him. This exercise was arranged by BCCI, ECB and LCCC.

Rohit Sharma was hit by Jasprit Bumrah
This is also the first time Rohit Sharma has led India in red ball cricket outside of India. Jasprit Bumrah didn’t take a wicket in the first session but worries Indian openers Rohit and Shubman Gill.
But a long throw from Bumrah, swung around a bit, caught Rohit sharply, hitting him in the groin. Extremely unwell, Rohit was forced to spend some time on the ground after being hit by the delivery.
