Randall Cobb has a heartfelt goodbye message for Davante Adams

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Randall Cobb sent a heartfelt goodbye to former Packers star Davante Adams on Instagram.

It’s been a heartbreaking season for the small town of Green Bay, Wisconsin, as fans eagerly await to see if its biggest stars leave town.

While Aaron Rodgers decided to stay, Davante Adams chose to leave. This isn’t just hard for fans who are struggling to envision what the next season will be like — it’s also been difficult for Randall Cobb.

Cobb, who was drafted by the Packers in 2011, spent nearly ten years in total in Green Bay as the broad-based receiver Rodgers trusts. That’s why Rodgers campaigned to get him back on the roster in 2021, and when Adams is gone, Cobb is the only veteran the Packers have in their arsenal.

Cobb honored his longtime friend and teammate with a heartfelt goodbye on Instagram, featuring a slideshow of the duo’s best moments received.

When Adams joined the Packers in 2014, Cobb had been theirs for three seasons already. When Adams first met Cobb, he assumed he was a seasoned player with ’10 years’ of his NFL career. In fact, it’s Cobb’s fourth season, and he’s just a few months away from turning 24.

“It was funny, because when G-Mo came in, he said the same thing about me,” Adams recalled in 2018. “He felt like I was an old man. And now I still don’t feel like an old guy. So now, when they come, I let them know – I’m right there with you. I’m not that old yet. ”

That year would be Cobb’s final year at Green Bay before spending one season with the Dallas Cowboys, then another with the Houston Texans. When Cobb left, Adams seemed to take up the extra goal as his star rose even higher. Adams has become a household name across the country, his staggering numbers earning rave reviews from fantasy fanatics as well as football aficionados.

Now, Adams is joining the Las Vegas Raiders as he reunites with one of his old friends in the Raiders quarterback Derek Carr. But as someone who has played for other teams, Cobb appreciates the time he spent with Adams at Green Bay.
