R-Truth Discusses How McMahons Came to His WWE Ring

R-Truth has been a staple in WWE since he joined the company in 2008. After a phenomenal stint in TNA under his real name (Ron “Truth” Murder), he joined WWE again. He is known during his previous run of the company as K-Kwik.

The Perennial Champion 24/7 recently talked to Notsam Wrestling Podcast. There, he talked about the origins of his current R-Truth ring. He say Stephanie McMahon played an important role in creating nicknames.

“It was me, Vince and Stephanie [McMahon]. They gave me a list of names, we tried to come up with a name, Steph said ‘You shouldn’t go back to K-Quick, that’s old friends, you’re a different person, you’ve grown up.’

We had a list of R names and Vince wanted to go with an R so we had a list of R names and Steph said ‘R-Truth?’ And Vince was walking out of his office and he said ‘R-Truth? I like that, what is R for? ‘

We just laughed and I said do it, R-Truth and that’s it. That’s the reason why I’m going to debut that night. “

Vince McMahon doesn’t seem to know the wrestler’s real name. In any case, Stephanie McMahon seems to have come up with the name. R-Truth continues to go with the flow in WWE.
