Back in September, Google Weather received a (late) Material Theme Redesign, but a particular bug caused launching from At a Glance to load the stale UI. This was graciously fixed today, although other bugs persist.
While all other Google apps receive a Material Theme you redesign throughout 2021, Weather only gets a Material Theme revision. It first appeared in late May before rolling out to the general public in September. By November, there was an error when tapping the temperature in the Pixel Launcher’s Quick Look area would open the previous Google Weather interface. with navigation drawer. It was originally fixed, but The problem is returned.
This bug has been around for over two months and was resolved for beta users with a server-side update this afternoon. Most people have probably noticed the fix with Google Apps 13.4 beta.
Speaking of that update, the 4×2 “Weather” widget is still broken in that tapping the rectangle has absolutely no effect. Tapping the oblong 3×3 version continues to open Google Weather.
Finally, Google has yet to fix how the rectangular extension completely mislabels the two-day forecast. In the screenshot (2-3) above, “Monday” actually refers to Tuesday’s highs and lows, while “Tuesday” is the forecast for Wednesday. This bug has existed since the end of October.
