Queensland Police: A Sunshine Coast mother breastfeeding her baby was allegedly kidnapped in a shopping center car park

The moment a mother was allegedly abducted by car while breastfeeding her baby in a Queensland mall parking lot was captured on CCTV.

Footage obtained from Sunrise and seen in the video player aboveshows the mother sitting with her baby in the driver’s seat of the car when she was approached by a man in Maroochydore on Friday.

He allegedly orders the woman to steal her car.

The 35-year-old man was wanted by police for a number of alleged crimes before the incident.

Police have claimed he broke into cars in several Brisbane suburbs the day before.

He allegedly stole a LandCruiser from a house in Minyama on the Sunshine Coast around 6.20am on Friday.

Frightened drivers on the Nambour Connection Road reported that he drove erratically, including on the wrong side of the road.

He dropped the car in Woombye, then allegedly robbed a woman at her home, took her car keys and stole her car, which was also a LandCruiser.

He is then believed to have dropped this vehicle in Buddina, where he allegedly detained more people in their home and stole another LandCruiser.

He drove that car to the Marchoochydore mall where he allegedly abducted the woman by car.

Police continued their manhunt and received reports that the car was “running red lights at a dangerous speed,” according to a police statement.

Then a police officer on a motorcycle spotted the car driving off-road behind properties in Sippy Downs.

Also bodycam recordings of the police seen in the video aboveshows the car backing up before the officer catches up and arrests him.

He was charged with 21 offenses, including armed robbery with violence, dangerous driving and burglary.

He remains in custody for an appearance in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on November 4.
