Queensland man killed in motorcycle crash near Mackay

A Queensland man has died in a two-vehicle collision near Mackay.

The 71-year-old man was riding his motorcycle north on the Bruce Highway in Yalboroo about 11.45am on Saturday when a southbound vehicle turned into his path and onto Cathu O’Connell River Road, police said.

The Bakers Creek man died on the way to the hospital.

The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was not physically injured.

The 28-year-old man from New South Wales is assisting police with their investigations.

Anyone with information about the accident is asked to contact the police.
