Queensland crime: body found in Gold Coast apartment

A Queensland man has been found dead in a Gold Coast apartment, prompting a police investigation.

The body of the 61-year-old man was discovered at a Southport unit around 7.30am on Friday.

Employees at the unit complex where the man lived found his body at a social check and called the police.

Police officers declared the unit a crime scene just before 8 a.m.
