Queensland Chase: The group taunts the police during the cross-border pursuit
A major car chase has developed on the M1 crossing the Queensland border into north NSW, with one person at a time filmed on the bonnet of a black Mercedes before police used road spikes to stop it.
In video of the incident posted to Facebook, several police cars can be seen chasing the Mercedes southbound on the M1 around 12.20pm on Thursday.

Footage filmed from inside the Mercedes shows the group taunting the police following behind – while a man also sits in the front of the moving vehicle.
Authorities “launched a pursuit of a vehicle after it crossed the Queensland border and allegedly failed to stop as instructed,” a NSW Police spokesman said in a statement.
“Road spikes have been deployed at the Cudgen Road Tunnel near the Tweed Valley Way.”
The vehicle was eventually stopped at Cudgera Creek, 129 km south of Brisbane in north-east NSW.
A 27-year-old man, a 17-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy – all from Queensland – were arrested at the scene.
“Motorists traveling southbound on the M1 at Cudgera Creek are advised to avoid the area where possible and expect delays,” the police spokesman added.
Police are urging anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
