New images show the understandably heavy toll the death of Queen Elizabeth II has taken on Catherine, Princess of Wales.
Princess Kate has made no secret of her love and deep respect for the Queen, describing her as “very generous” and praising the late monarch for her “gentle leadership”.

Pictures show the Queen fighting back tears as she arrived at Westminster Abbey with her eldest children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
Princess Kate put on a brave face as she led her children into the ceremony, looking tearful but resilient.
“Kate looks like we all feel – sad but trying to be strong,” one Twitter user noted.
In a sweet tribute to the Queen, Kate wears a Japanese pearl necklace once treasured by the late monarch.
The necklace has four rows of pearls with a central clasp featuring three rows of marquise cut diamonds at the top and bottom.
The Queen is believed to have first loaned the choker to Kate in 2017.
The late monarch also famously bestowed it on Diana, Princess of Wales to wear during a state visit to Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands in 1982.
Kate also wears Bahrain pearl earrings which were part of Queen Elizabeth II’s royal collection.
It goes without saying that pearl earrings are a special tradition for royals in times of mourning.
It is known that the beloved queen was very fond of her husband’s grandmother and felt comfortable in her presence, as evidenced by numerous photos over the years in which the couple smiled or laughed.
Kate has described the late monarch as a “granny in love” to her three children with Prince William, commenting on the Queen’s “thoughtfulness” and “carefulness in looking after everyone”.
In 2016, she revealed that she once used an old Middleton family recipe to make marrow chutney for the Queen, but feared her mother-in-law wouldn’t like it.
“I was a little worried about it, but the next day I noticed it was on the table,” she said on the documentary Our Queen at Ninety.
“I think such a simple gesture has done so much for me and I’ve noticed since she’s done that on many occasions and I think it just shows her thoughtfulness, really, and her care in looking after everyone.” To take care of.”
The Princess of Wales also spoke about the Queen’s love for family and said she was one of the first visitors to Kensington after Princess Charlotte was born.
“She always leaves a little present or something in her room,” Kate revealed in the documentary.
“I think that just shows her love for her family.”
And under the Queen’s influence, as Kate navigated her own royal duties, the princess called her “very generous” and “a gentle guide.”
“She was very generous and not pushy in any of her views in any way,” Kate told the documentary.
“I feel like she was kind of a gentle guide for me.”
