The family wore merchandise from local basketball team Tasmania Jackjumpers as they cheered on the team as they played New Zealand Breakers at MyState Bank Arena.
Visible in the crowd were Prince Christian (17), Princess Isabella (15), Prince Vincent (11) and Princess Josephine (11).
Mary moved between tiers of the stadium, spending some time with her husband and time with friends.
The four children sat further forward in the stands.
As seen in a photo taken before their arrival, each family member was given a Jackjumpers jersey with their names on the back.
Christian was pictured proudly wearing his jersey over his shirt.
The visit is a private family holiday, the last official visit was in 2013.

The Danish palace confirmed the family’s return to Australia in late November.
While the family hasn’t visited Australia together since 2017, Mary made a surprise solo trip to Melbourne in March 2022.
“In December, the Crown Prince’s family will travel to Australia on a private Christmas holiday to celebrate the holiday with the Crown Princess’ family,” the Danish royal family said in a statement.
“It has been five years since the Crown Prince and their four children last visited the home of the Crown Princess.”
The family began their journey in Sydney, where they were spotted both on Bondi Beach shopping and later on Palm Beach, an hour’s drive north of Sydney’s CBD.
The family has close ties to Sydney as that’s where the couple met and Mary spent her 20s.
The couple met during an evening when Frederik was in town for the 2000 Olympics.

Following the family’s arrival in Tasmania, the Danish royal family shared a snap taken on December 23.
“Merry Christmas from ‘Down Under’ – where we celebrate Christmas in Tasmania,” the caption began.
“Here there is neither frostbite nor trees, but summer and warm weather.”
Mary was pictured holding onto her husband’s knee as she paid tribute to her home country in a Zimmerman dress.
The four children sat around their parents in front of a sweeping view over Tasmania.
